Institute Initiatives
Human Flourishing Project
- An ongoing project exploring the theme of human flourishing as a touchstone between Christian belief and broader human striving. Our aim is to show how Christianity continues to offer essential resources for living well, enabling and empowering the work of the university and all areas of human life. The fellows are currently working on a book length project to introduce our concern in this matter—other projects will follow.
The Integration Project
The call to integrate the Christian faith with contemporary scholarship has become a topic of lively discussion. We take this task to involve exploring how the contours of a Christian vision of reality illuminate the rich diversity of research projects within the academy. Our expectation is that work in this area will contribute fruitful questions and methodologies to the current discourse.
The research projects of individual Rivendell Fellows represent their commitment to integrate within their own disciplines. In addition, the institute’s Integration Project seeks to identify and articulate a Biblical, Theological and Practical model to help others pursue their integration task faithfully.
